    The synthetic furniture on this carbine is made by Choate Machine and Tool co. in Bald Knob, Arkansas. Go to www.riflestock.com, follow the links, and you'll see the "adult" version of the youth stock that comes OEM. It's an inexpensive purchase and will solve the L.O.P. problem that you mentioned.

    And by the way, this is the best written, best illustrated, most informative blog about a specific firearm I've ever read. You're doing a great job!

    Also, you're correct that this weapon utilizes an SB-2 receiver. With the exception of the 357 and 44 Magnum Handis, all H&R centerfire rifles use this receiver.

    Thank you for this absolutely superb and informative review. This review and the data it provides have solidified my thoughts on this particular firearm - and now I'm on the hunt for one.     This morning I became the new owner of an H&R Handi Rifle in .300 Blackout. What a dandy lil' pup of a small rifle/carbine. I've not worked with the .300 Blackout before. Hadn't given this rifle much thought, until saw n' handled one this morning! Was instantly hooked on the handiness and potential for 'woods loafing' carbine n' camp gun. Very much looking forward to developing loads. Much appreciation for your time n' efforts in the reviews (my first one read is this one) that you've provided - excellent+ they are. outsidebear
