Noted that I have more handling and range experience with rifles over pistols, but recently have moved into Ruger auto-pistols such as the 9mm P95DC, .45cal P97, and an LC9 that carries very nicely. So I suppose that I may be turning into a bit of a Ruger snob, and my Lady and I were looking to move into that '1911 world'.
ReplyDeleteSo...
I received an SR1911for my birthday (how did she know?) in March. Since then, I've put some 300 rds down range, and I will confirm the accuracy (better than me) and flawless operation.
I too had the rosewood grips loosen slightly and now store them in the box with the rubberized Hoque grip as replacement. I highly recommend this grip. The gun has a wonder feel and softens the 'not so bad as you might think anyway' recoil of the weapon.
I love the styling and balance. The feel of consistent operation inspires confidence.
Great review. I've got mine. Go get yours.
Ruger developed a nice 1911. It doesn't hold up to an Ed Brown or Kimber 1911, but it performs great for the price! Review was thorough with plenty of pictures.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, I have had my ruger 1911 since march and I have put about 300 rounds or so through it without any problems. I really think Ruger has a keeper on there hand, I really like mine and plan on putting more rounds down range.
ReplyDeleteOutstanding review. I feel like already handled the gun:) Really appreciate the very detailed disassembly and internal features high res photos. Please Please keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteJust purchased the SR1911 and shot it for the first time, yesterday. I was very pleased with the accuracy and performance of the pistol. I believe this is going to become my favorite! Last shot a 1911 in 1968, was worried the 45 Cal. might be too much to handle. All my worries were dispelled with this pistol.
ReplyDeleteGreat Review! I just pick one of these up and love it. Side note im a river guide on the Ocoee river in TN and I took a young lady down the river you might know and all ill say is you raised a good girl.
