  1. Just picked one of these last weekend at the Conroe, TX guns show. Very pleased. Great companion to my M&P40/9. An ergonomic match that is easier on the wallet for those times you just want to burn through 500 rounds. If Apex Tactical releases a trigger kit for this, (like my M&P40 has), I'll be a happy man. Mags are not easy to find but the good news is they are fairly easy to modify to hold 14 rounds. Gun runs any 22lr you throw in there as well plus I can usethe same retention holster I use with my other M&P.

All in all, a no regrets purchase.

    1. I bought one yesterday and was disappointed with the lack of 2 magazines, the store had no extras for sale and most online locations are out of stock, The magazine prices are seemingly high for a .22 pistol. As mentioned in this article, an exploded view would be nice (my 99.00 marlin 795 .22 rifle has it)
I'm looking forward to some range time with this gun.

The feel is good in my hands, I bought it mainly for the wife and kids as they dont feel comfortable with the XD40 yet, so this will be a stepping stone for them as well as a training tool and a way to shoot inexpensivly

    2. I recently made a solid aluminum trigger for my M&P22 since there were none available. You can see the trigger on my website at http://www.minifirepistons.com/MP22.htm. Let me know if you are interested and we'll go from there.

  7. Excellent review and pictures. Can you add more articles and pictures on disassembling this gun even further?

  8. We bought this gun to replace a Walther P22 that had horrible feed issues. This gun has been excellent with two exceptions. First, the gun has feed issues intermittantly if you load the mag with 12 rounds so we usually only load 10 rounds. Second, Federal 1280FPS Shok 40 grain do not eject well sometimes jamming the slide requiring a forceful pull on the slide to free. However it appears the rim on the Federal's seem to be slightly rounded (torward the bullet) and may cause the extraction arm to slip off the case. This never happens with Remington Golden 36gr or Winchester Standard speed with over 500 rounds. In all we are very happy with this gun and would recommend it highly.

  9. I am not sorry I purchased this but not being able to find additional magazines is frustrating.

  10. Personally, I'm not so happy with mine. Suffers up to 25% misfires with certain ammo.I've tried most everything available (in Canada). Totally hates hollow point and Winchester. Am I alone with this problem, very little support in Canada.

  12. Great review I have not had any ftf fte at all. The magazines are available 10rd if you watch close they are around $35.00 to $50.00. I was able to get four extra mags for $33.00 each free shipping. The 10rd mag converts to a 12rd in just a couple minutes, by removing spacer inside mag. keep your spacers in the case of different state laws.

  13. LOVE this pistol!! Looks good; feels good; shoots good! Very accurate; single action; very little recoil! My other handguns are .380 and 9mm compacts, and they are a little too snappy for the wife and daughters, so I am confident they will love the S&W. Eats anything I put through it, including the cheap bulk ammo with no ftf or fte's! Perfect for training and light varmint hunting as well. I would've loved two mags up front as well, but I got the gun for $299 so I saved enough (I think) to buy and extra.

  14. I looked for a long time too, but I was able to find an extra mag at Uncle Lee's in Greensville, KY for about $32. http://www.unclelees.com/

  16. I picked one of these up this past August and it has lived up to every positive comment in the article. Very fun to shoot! Now I'm hot for a full sized M&P 9 to go with my 9c.
